Privacy and data handling
Last updated: August 2026
ClearIFC is operated by CAD Programmer, Sydney, Australia. This page explains what happens to the files and information you give us. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
1. IFC models you upload
- The file is streamed to temporary storage, parsed, checked, and then deleted — whether the validation succeeded, failed, or crashed.
- No copy of the model, and no geometry from it, is retained afterwards.
- Uploads are not used to train anything, and are not shared with third parties.
- If the service is restarted while a validation is in progress, any leftover temporary file is deleted when it starts again.
2. Validation reports
If you are signed in, the report is retained so you can download it again later: the pass/fail verdict, per-check summaries, and the list of elements that failed, identified by GlobalId, IFC type and name. Reports are deleted automatically after the retention period (90 days by default). If you are not signed in, nothing is retained once you leave.
A report identifies elements inside your model, and the file name may identify your project. Treat a stored report as project information, and delete it if that matters to you.
3. Rule sets and IDS files
Rule templates and IDS specifications you save are stored against your account until you delete them, because their whole purpose is re-use across submissions. You can export any of them as a standard IDS file at any time.
4. Account and contact details
If you request early access we store your name, email, and anything else you chose to tell us, and use it only to contact you about ClearIFC. We do not sell or share it. Ask us and we will delete it.
5. Where your data is
ClearIFC is hosted in Australia. For organisations whose policies do not permit model files to be uploaded to a third-party service at all, a self-hosted deployment is available that runs entirely inside your own network — in which case none of the above involves us at all.
6. Security
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Saved reports and rule sets require authentication to access.
- Upload size limits and rate limiting are applied to prevent abuse.
7. Cookies and analytics
The marketing site sets no tracking cookies. The application stores only what it needs to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
8. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will say so here and update the date above.
